Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on the site, including reading and editing, the TSPTF can access certain functions depending on their rank.

Rules for All TSPTF members
- Don't abuse your rights. They may only be used for site maintenance. Misuse of rights may result in a warning, demotion and blocking.
- No narcissism. Although we are admins here, we're not admins anywhere else. Our job is to keep this site in order, not to act as "political rulers" and expect loyalty.

Lieutenants are admins without bureaucrat rights, so they can't promote or demote users.
Lieutenant abilities
- Deleting and undeleting pages, page histories, and uploaded files.
- Locking (protecting) a page so it cannot be edited or renamed by users without lieutenant rights or recruit status.
- Blocking IP addresses or user names from editing; and very quick "rollback" of undesirable edits.
- Editing the interface by changing system messages and skins.
- Admins also have constable (rollback) and sub-lieutenant (chat moderator) rights.

- Don't block users for no reason.
- If you break this policy, you will be demoted.

IP addresses
An IP user or an anonymous user is a contributor that doesn't have a user account, thus are represented by the IP address the user obtains. Since IP addresses change periodically, two or more different IP addresses can represent the same person or one IP address can be used by different people.
IP users may only edit the site (except with semi-protection or admin-protection, as well as view images and watch videos. They may not upload files or change their user preference and user rights.
Users
A user is a contributor that has a user account. They are represented by their user name and their IP addresses are hidden. They may change their preference and user rights, only see ads on the main page, and upload files.

Autoconfirmed Users
Autoconfirmed users who have been active for at least 4 days and made at least 10 edits have the additional rights to:
- Edit semi-protected pages.
- Upload multiple files at once.
- No longer have to go under CAPTCHA when inserting external links, blanking a page and creating a new account.
Emailconfirmed Users
Emailconfirmed users have their emails confirmed and have the rights to email users.
