Days later, Moldova goes bust as Russia's extortionist gas prices reach a stupendous new high. Transnistria and Moldova clash go to war over the fate of the breakaway state. Syria again shells out several Turkish border posts, Turkey retaliates once more in kind and again appeals to NATO. Saudi Arabia, Libya, Algeria, Jordan, Oman, Macedonia, the UAE and Greece overtly joined in a year later.

Quebec voted on independence and the separatists win narrowly. The English speaking unionist and the French speaking Parti Québécois (PQ) government's supporters riot for several days and burn down several houses in Montreal. It was the March of the year 2017 and the Chinese had just opened their new space station despite of a brief armed separatist rebellion in Yunnan Province. Argentina, like North Korea, seeked to take advantage of the situation for self gain. The Falklands is given an ultimatum to parse on to Britain demanding that the Falklands should be given to them. Britain rejects the ultimatum. Opposition comes from Bolivia (fears domination by Gringos), America (trapped by the Monroe doctrine), Spain (racist to non Hispanics) and Russia (to open a new front). Chile backs the UK as a way of bursting it's rival's toxic ego trip. Argentina then gives up and backs down.

A summit is held in the UN and NATO over Russia's aggressive behavior, the situation in the Middle East and the recent Chinese computer hackers. America also starts selling Taiwan and and South Korea the latest weapons tech as both nation brace themselves for war.

As this happens, Georgia is defeated by Russia in a brief war over who can control S. Ossetia. Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Portugal, Denmark, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Taiwan, Belgium, Georgia, Kosovo, Albania, Croatia, Greece, S. Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Israel, Gabon, Niger, Palau, Nigeria, Katanga, Senegal, Egypt, Libya, Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Montenegro, Bosnia, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Iraq, Bosnia and Macedonia all ask the USA for financial and military equipment help and they get it. Russia and China send similar help to Serbia, Srpska, Venezuela and Syria.

Several ethnically Russian towns in Eastern Latvia (the Latgale) declares independence and the quickly join Russia. Latvia gives up without a fight, knowing it will never win. Indeed, even German poisoned gas failed to deter the Basques, many of whom died in the war! Nonetheless, Germany was still genocideing Belgian, Bavaria and Poland after their fall in mid 2040. Over the 4 years of heavy the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Barbados, Turkey, Israel and USA finally freed France and Padania in 2044. As this happened Spain finally collapsed into rival, warring provinces and several French provinces like Normandy went there own way. Baden-Baden and Württemberg also dumped Germany and sued for peace in late 2044.

A massive cyclone caused much flooding in the nations of Brittany, Cornwall (Kernow), the Devonian Republic, Wales, Powys-Shropshire, Richmondshire, Matlockshire, Scunthorpeshire, the Belgian Confederacy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Munster in the Neo-Hanseatic League and Denmark proper in 2727, killing 2 Dutch people, 1 Belgian, 1 Devonian, 2 Danes, 1 Cornwallian, 1 Munster Neo-Hasiatic and 1 Scuntorpeite as it did so.
