On June 1, 2023 a mining operation began on the dark side of the moon to try and provide water and rare earth metals for the world. However it was discovered in 2045 that this mining operation had destabilized large portions of the lunar surface. Scientists said that large pieces of the moon roughly the size of Manhattan would begin to collide with the earth by 2123 completely destroy all life on earth. This led to a massive colonization effort of Mars. Hydroponic systems began to be developed to provide food for the new colonies. Art and historical books were also sent to the colonies to preserve. Photographs documenting the history were also sent to Mars to preserve them. The global default was also relocated to Mars. By 2100 the first Martian colony was established. The population was 25 million. By 2109 3 billion people had relocated to Mars in the Martian colonies were fairly successful. by 2119 years population was only was 2 billion however these people cannot be saved because there was very little resources to launch a rocket. The last colonization ship left the earth on June 8 2119. Finally on August 1 2123 a large asteroid colliding collide with the earth completely destroy all life. However humanity began to rebuild on Mars and much of mankind's culture was also preserved. A memorial to the 2 billion people that died on the planet Earth was also constructed on June 8 2145. Earth Memorial Day was also established on August 1 2223 which was the hundredth anniversary of the destruction of year.
