Mussolini-Hitler Split, or the German-Italian Split, was a conflict between the leaders of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, which resulted in Italy's expulsion from the Axis Alliance in 1948.

It was said by the Germans to be caused by Mussolini's disloyalty to the Nazis, while in Italy and the West it was presented as Benito Mussolini's refusal to submit to Adolf Hitler's will in making Italy part of the Fascist Inner Circle, essentially a Nazi satellite state. Scholars now emphasize the cause was Mussolini's rejection of Hitler's demand that Italian Jews be surrendered to Germany and put in Concentration Camps, as well as the opening of Libya to European Refugees trying to avoid presecution by the invading Nazis.
