New Guinea was an island chain close to Australia that was wiped out all life after chunks of the moon collide with the earth in the 22nd century. Humans still lived on the island when the meteorites destroy the earth. Most people who live in New Guinea were nomadic and believe that they were meant to die on earth instead of finding a new way of life among the stars. The United Nations urged the people of New Guinea to a vast week the planet and moved to Mars however the people refused eventually resulting in the death of all of New Guinea's people. A memorial to the people of New Guinea was constructed in the Australian colony on Mars near Martian volcano on the hundred anniversary of the destruction of the planet Earth.
