The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, often shortened to Soviet Union, is a political entity located in Northern Eurasia.
After the Second World War[]
After the official declaration of victory by Adolf Hitler, the Soviets continued to fight on in what is now dubbed the Great Patriotic War in Russia, and the Great Soviet Resistance elsewhere. Fighting bogged down in the Ural Mountains, known as the "Ural Front" to both belligerents. There, fierce guerilla warfare took place
that cost the Germans much in the long run, though Hitler always assured the German population that everything is going well in the East.
After Stalin[]
Stalin died in 1968, and was succeeded by Andrei Zdhanov.
