The Amazonian kelp forest (aquatic apocalypse)

By 2056 the Amazon rain forest was completely submerged and all its animal and plant life were mostly dead. Only alligators were saved because they became a major source for the aquatic ones in 2063. The aquatic ones converted this vast area seaweed forest when introduced animals and plants from their home planet. There was a small colony in the Amazon that preserves small percentage of the life from this rain forest however most of this life died in a breach of oxygen that killed 76 people in the colony in 2099
