Beginning in the 2030s the aquatic ones constructed a large geodesic dome entirely covered the city of New York City, 90% of New Jersey, and Liberty Island. The dome was completed by 2044 and by the 2050s the New York colony was completely surrounded by water. This city was extremely overpopulated by 2054 and was the most populated human colony. The population by 2066 the city was home to 30% of all people on the planet. In the 2070s submarine, ports were established by the aquatic ones which allow the citizens of the New York colony to travel around the world to other human colonies. The New York colony was extremely poor and full of floating slums around liberty Island. There are also massive food riots from the 2080s the 2090s. There's also an oxygen leak in 2099 that killed 57 people. The city became an independent human colony in 2174. Eventually, the colony became one of the most popular cities on the horrifically terraform Earth. The city eventually 16 other geodesic domes by 2188. This collection of geodesic domes became known as the Republic of New York in 2199.
