On August 6, 2091, there was a revolution in North Korea which overthrew the dictatorship that ruled this nation since the Korean War of the 20th century. This revolution was inspired by the 2090 revolution in China. After the revolution, North Korea and South Korea reunited. The South Korean government became the government of the new Republic of Korea. The uniting of North and South Korea was very controversial because North Korea was so much less advanced and poorer than South Korea.T he northern region of Korea remained a lot poorer and more chaotic than southern Korea. In the 24th century, Korea still has to deal with more powerful storms and typhoons that were caused as a result of environmental damage caused during the 21st century.
Korea during the Ice Age[]
Like most northern countries Korea was devastated by the Ice Age that occurred from the 53rd century to the 63rd century. This Ice Age drastically increased snowfall and crippled the electrical grid and the transportation system of the nation. In 5300 there is also a massive food shortage in the country which caused the Korean government to completely collapse. At the end of the Ice, Age Korea was no longer a country instead it was a loosely organized network of city-states.
