Beginning in September 1, 2077 there is a massive flood in Las Vegas that was caused by ground erosion from a record heatwave. This flood completely destroyed most of Las Vegas and contaminate the water supply. The flood also cause the Hoover dam to collapse completely destroying the water supply for the city of Vegas. This also led to a massive drought in California that caused a massive migration to to South America and Canada. Almost all of Las Vegas was completely destroyed and as a result of environmental catastrophes all across the country there was no money to rebuild the city. The city remained everyone's until the 22nd century. When the site city was acquired by the US government began to construct a new city known as Nevada city. The water infrastructure had long since been rebuilt as a result of desalination technology. Nevada city became an extremely important and popular tourist destination in the 23rd century and was home to the Museum of 21st-century culture. Nevada city also built a large memorial to Las Vegas in 2400.
