The global beef shortage (1980's chaos)

From 1982 to 1986 there was a global beef shortage that was caused by the nuclear war of 1982 between the UK and Argentina. It was also partially cause by fear over radiation, mad cow disease. The amount of beef with reduced greatly primarily due to the fact that Argentina or  the UK no longer exporting the following nuclear war. People were also afraid that the contaminated by radiation from the conflict. Eventually new sources of beef were discovered in the United States and China began to export more beef. However the impact of the beef shortage continue long after it was all. It also led to the 1990s trend of vegetarian and vegan diet. Also contributed to the invention of lab grown meat in 2001 by Chinese-Americans food conglomerate known as biotech systems.
