The presidential age limit was introduced in Congress on August 1, 1975. This law declared that no one could run for president who is older than the retirement age. This insured that politicians presidents would be younger and what not have to deal with dementia. This prevented extremely old elderly president may not live to fulfill their turn. This act also stated that no one could run for president that was younger than 21 years old. This act was extremely unpopular by the Republican Party and many older politicians objected. However, this act became popular and drastically change the style of presentation. This act was monumental and had a major impact on 20h century American politics.
