Stellar Characteristics[]
Λ-1, or Lambda-1, is a Binary Star System consisting of two Red-dwarf stars, Tiberinus and Tibertus. Between the two stars, there are 15 planets, with two orbiting both. The system is entirely owned by the European Federation, and is the fourth-largest system by population in the Italica sector.
Tiberinus[]
An M-type star with 7 planets, Tibernius is the (slightly) larger star and scientifically referenced as Λ-1A. Tibernius is slightly older than its counterpart, with both of them being in the middle-early period of their lifespans.
The star is redder in color, and undergoes a 19-year Solar Cycle. At its maximum, it can release as many as 5 Solar Flares or CMEs a week. During this period, all residents of planets close to the star are resigned to underground radiation shelters.
Tibertus[]
An M-type star with 8 planets, Tibertus is slightly smaller than Tiberinus, also being slightly younger. Tibertus is scientifically known as Λ-1B. Tibertus is a more chaotic star, often throwing Solar Flares wildly, and without prediction.
For this reason, the Lambda One Early Warning System (LOEWS) was installed, and covers both stars to warn of any unpredicted Solar Flares.
Tibernius (Λ-1A)[]
Mauretania[]
Class VI
Mauretania[]
A gas giant with no major moons, Mauretania is over 90% Hydrogen, which has made it an attractive location for Hydrogen Mining companies, due to the lack of purification needed. Many orbital stations come and go, but there are no permanent settlements, despite many staying for years at a time.
Mauretania has a strange interior, not only does the gas giant rotate on its side, but its core is composed of mostly Ice in a superdense state. This lends credit to the Idea that Mauretania was hit by another larger, likely aquatic, terrestrial planet.
This means that Mauretania must have orbited further out in the past, possibly ejecting many planets and being the reason why Tiberinus has less planets than its smaller counterpart.
Lusitania[]
Class VI - II
Lusitania[]
A purple Gas Giant with an atmosphere consisting of primarily water vapor, Lusitania is a strange case. From orbit, you can see that it has two major storm systems, named Emerita (The darker one) and Merida (The lighter one), in addition to its abnormal hue.
One thing you might not know is that the entire planet is owned by Antares, the gas-mining conglomerate. It is one of the few cases in the European Federation where a company has managed to obtain an entire planet, despite being more common in other nations like the United States.
Water mining is the main part of Lusitania's economy, as large quantities of Water Vapor and be condensed quickly and cheaply, before being sold to dryer worlds. Lusitania has one very small moon, where its only permanent settlement also resides.
Douro[]
A small asteroid moon with little material value, Douro serves as an observational and administration hub for Lusitania. The primary feature of Douro is the settlement of Olisipo, serving as an administrative headquarters for Antares.
The settlement has a population of 1,320, mostly consisting of administrative buildings.
Tarraconensis[]
Class VI - I
Tarraconensis[]
A green gas giant with prominent blue band, especially around the poles, Tarraconensis is made up of heavier gasses like Argon. It's rather unique mixture of gasses has occasionally spawned Mining Missions that lasts for decades, but there are none occuring as of today, with the latest one being a mission from Antares to sell Argon to manufacturing firms.
Tarraconensis has been described as "exceptional" from orbit, with tourism trips to its poles and upper atmosphere being the longest-running industry on Tarraconensis. However, there are no floating observatories on Tarraconensis.
Iber[]
The largest and most important moon of Tarraconensis, it is still small and cratered. It mainly consists of interplanetary and one interstellar port that serves as an entryway into the system for those pausing to visit the views of the gas giant.
Iber has 4 major settlements, totaling a population of 7,831.

Raetia[]
Class III
Raetia[]
A cold desert, this is a world that is in the middle of the Terraformation process. Many industrial companies focus their model around the Terraformation process, as they are encouraged to pump Carbon Dioxide and Methane into the air, and Raetia has seen its economy explode thanks to this. Antares, Norman Shipbuilding, Franklin Labs, Fraser Industrial Services, and other such names have bought vast swaths of land on this planet.
While the Raetia itself offers not much material value, it has become a key export hub for many of these companies. The European Federation has carefully carved out which sections are reserved for Industry, mostly being situated in lower lands so they'll be forced out as the water level rises. These companies have lobbied unsuccessfully to have building rights around the poles.
Raetia's landscape is primarily composed of cold desert flat and plains that stretch on forever, with only the occasional ridgeline limiting the view. There's a running joke revolving around Raetia being compared to North Dakota by American Tourists.
Raetia has no moons large enough to be mentioned.
Lugdunensis[]
Class V
Lugdunensis[]
Lugdunensis is a hydrogen-rich Gas Giant with a pale orange color and a cold atmosphere. A notable feature is that this Gas Giant's magnetic field is very weak for its size, pointing to a heavy and frozen core.
Lugdunensis has a ring of small moons in similar orbits around its equator, and analysis of these smaller moons had proven it to be likely that another large moon had gotten too close to the planet when it was in its early days.
Due to the common nature of elements found in Lugdunensis's atmosphere, Antares is the only major hydrogen miner, and this is likely due to Antares already having nearby logistics, making mining here cheaper.
Vilaine[]
A cold but pristine landscape, Vilaine is a rocky moon of Lugdunensis that is rich in Silicon. This has led to many companies funding mining outposts on its deserted surface.
Vilaine's atmosphere is thick and hydrogen rich, making rockets annoying and expensive, which is likely why large Silicon mining projects take root elsewhere. In fact, there are only 6 Permanent settlements in this moon almost the size of Mercury.
