Construction[]
The USS Barry M. Goldwater is the first Barry M. Goldwater-Class Supercarrier of the United States Navy. It was first imagined as a Gerald R Ford-Class Supercarrier, but after Chinese Missile Strikes had proven effective against many large US ships, the Navy made a decision to downsize carriers into a smaller and cheaper version that also wouldn't result in too much of a loss in national morale when sunk. As a bonus, these ships would be faster and harder to hit.
The Barry M Goldwater's kneel was laid down on April 4th, 2029, Launched on July 3rd, 2030, and Commissioned on January 9th, 2034. These dates closely line up with the USS Franklin Pierce (CVN-82)'s construction dates, as they were built very close to each other.
Service[]
2030s[]
The USS Barry M Goldwater served as a crucial cyberattack platform when it was stationed near Chinese Underwater Cables in the South China Sea. It came under several ballistic missile attacks, but thankfully defended against each one, taking 2 hits and intercepting the rest. However, both put the carrier out of action for 5 months.
2040s[]
The Barry M Goldwater was sold to Taiwan in 2041 for $5 Billion USD, a very cheap price. The Barry M Goldwater was then renamed ROC Leinchiang, and participated in a mostly defensive manner, being sent out to provide Air Cover to important fleets.
2050s[]
The ROC Leinchiang was sold for scrap in 2052.
